Boosters
The spiro-ortho-esters (SOEs) isolated from grapefruit consist of two hetrocycyclic rings, either coumarin (C) or furocoumarin (FC), one of which incorporates the SOE functionality. The heterocycles are connected by an aliphatic link and the SOE ring system has a sidechain that varies in nature.
